The frieze of tridents and dolphins is inspired by an engraving by Marco da Ravenna reproducing a bas-relief in S. Vitale, Ravenna (see 1860,0728.646), while the motif of the bucranium with the garlanded horns echoes a plate by Agostino Veneziano (1869,0410.207). Source: P.
