This is one of five known mezzotints by Laroon himself. It is signed in scratched lettering in a reserved area of white at the bottom left corner. None of the five gives any indication who published them, and none seems to have been re-issued by a later publisher. All are extremely rare. The only clue to date them lies in a mezzotint after Laroon by John Smith showing a woman spoonfeeding a child, which is dated 1683 in the New York Public Library album (I p.2; not described by Wessely).
