- Curator's comments
- One of a large series of drawings and watercolours of buildings and antiquities in London by John Wykeham Archer, in 17 portfolios (mostly stored offsite); for further information on the series, see registration number 1874,0314.1*.
The body was found in St Stephen's Crypt, Westminster in January 1852 in a cavity under a seat in the easternmost window on the North side and was identified as that of William Lyndwood who died in 1446 and was most probably buried in the chapel. The body was re-interred in March 1852 in the North cloister of Westminster Abbey.
