A broadside parodising the theft of the treasures of the diocese Paderborn by Duke Christian II von Braunschweig-Lüneburg; with an etching showing in three scenes the encounter of St Liborius, the patron saint of Paderborn, and the Duke: in the first scene the saint is standing on the left and greeted by the duke, in the second, the duke is embracing the saint, in the last the saint is carried away to be placed in a chest; with engraved title and two columns of text. - Curator's comments
- The Duke occupied Paderborn on 31 January 1622, and demanded the Romanesque shrine of St Liborius. The relics were saved, but the shrine, together with other silver works, was melted in the mint in Lippstadt to produce the so-called 'Pfaffentaler'.
