Cadart) 1872; containing 48 numbered etchings with lettered titles mainly of landscapes and views (many relating to events of the Franco-Prussian War) but with some genre and figure subjects, and frontispiece etching by Roybet showing a semi-nude blacksmith forging armour at his anvil, with an owl sitting on a cannon and industrial city behind. Bound with letterpress titlepage and list of plates in original brown cloth boards with gold-tooled title. Etchings

Curator's comments: "L'Illustration Nouvelle" for the years 1868, 1869, 1870-71, 1872, and 1873 are kept at 191*.b.10 to 14. The titlepages to each include the heading "Fondation du 1er Avril 1868". The final print in this volume is a by an anonymous etcher, and titled "Mon Habitation Pendant la Guerre". The etchings are printed on laid paper.
