- Curator's comments
- For comment on the series, see 1925,1117.120. This is first state, Hollstein also describes second state, in which the letterpress has been replaced by engraved verses. Third state is engraved with printer's address. In fourth state the address has been removed.
According to Hollstein LXVII, p.166 on the series, Dirk Bouts (by Cort) is supposed to be number 6 and orley number 5. The Hollstein III on Cornelis Cort, p. 161, gives Dirk Bouts number 5 and Orley number 6, as is the case on the prints.
