- This print is after a painting of 1856 by Ansdell (who painted the dog), Frith (woman) and Creswick (landscape) in Bolton Art Gallery; a version of the composition dated 1865 is in the Mercer Art Gallery, Harrogate. See Mark Bills and Vivien Knight (eds), 'William Powell Frith: Painting the Victorian Age (New Haven and London, 2006), p.151, where the Harrogate version of the work is reproduced as fig.141.
