- Drawn in Rome, c.1819-20, when Eastlake was a fellow-lodger with Captain and Mrs Graham in the Palazzo Mignanelli (see David Robertson, 'Sir Charles Eastlake and the Victorian Art World', 1978, p.17).
Acquired as a portrait of Maria Grahame by Charles Phillips, and so listed by Binyon. Engraved by Mrs D Turner.
