The painting is in the musée national des châteaux de Versailles et de Trianon (MV3282). It has been ascribed to François Clouet and later to François Bunel, but the attribution remains uncertain. In Garnier-Pelle & Perot's catalogue 'Henri, portraits d'un règne' (Paris, 2010) the painting is attributed to François II Bunel.
