A weak copy, possibly by a Northern hand, of a design either by Perino himself or one of his studio-assistants. A drawing of a similar vase, attributable to the studio of Perino, is in the Uffizi, as Polidoro (Braun 76693).

- According to a note in the interleaved copy of the 1962 catalogue, the inscription on the backing is that of Gaillard de Longjumeau an XVIIIc French collector in Aix-en-Provence. A similar inscription 'TINTORET' is found on a drawing in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, see H. Macandrew , 'P.-J. de Gaillard de Longjumeau, an XVIII-century collector of drawings from Aix-en-Provence and some notes on his family', "Gazette des beaux-arts", Sept. 1972, pp. 149-64.
