The title continues: 'and to the Female Reformers of Manchester and the adjacent Towns who were exposed to and suffered from the Wanton and Furious Attack made on them by that British Armed Force the Manchester and Cheshire Yeomanry Cavalry'. A view of the scene round the platform on 16 Aug. A woman holds a banner inscribed 'Manchester Female Reform' on which a female figure tramples on 'Coruption'. The other three banners on the platform are: U'niversal Suffrage'; 'Liberty or Death' [see No. 13279]; 'Universal Civil and Religious Liberty'. In the foreground a man with a banner on which is a female figure holding a sword is pursued by one of the yeomanry. All the banners are topped by a cap of Liberty. Many of the men on the ground and on the platform wear (green) leaves in their hats.
