- One of a collection of 31 plates showing Brighton Pavilion made after designs by Augustus Pugin under the direction of John Nash for George IV, and originally published by Nash and Rudolph Ackermann. This impression is from a volume published posthumously by J. B. and J. G. Nichols with "A History of the Palace", including notes to the plates, by Edward Wedlake Brayley (172*.b.8). Uncoloured plates are integrated with the text; this is one of a supplementary series of 29 hand-coloured plates mounted on card "in imitation of the original drawings" which were offered bound with the text ("List of the Prints ...", following p.17).
For the complete series see 1871,0812.339-404.
