‘The isles of Loch Awe and other poems of my youth. With sixteen illustrations. By Philip Gilbert Hamerton’ (London, W.E. Painter), 1855; containing 14 wood-engravings by Evans after Hamerton showing landscapes of Loch Awe: north end of Loch Awe, Kilchurn Castle, Kilchurn and Ben Loy, the Pass of Awe, the bridge of Cladich, an Old Hall, the River Brun, Hurstwood in Lancashire, the Crypt of York Minster, a winter study on the Brun, scene in the Great Hall in Haddon, the Stoodlye Pike seen from Dean Scout, the Chalk Cliffs, and the Dover Castle; all images vignettes without any lettering, titles and names of places taken from the list of illustrations; with frontispiece showing ‘The Terrace, Haddon’ with a castle seen through trees, and vignette on title-page of ‘The Isle of Ardhonnel’; dedication to M.H., errata, table of contents, and list of illustrations with explanation. Bound by Leighton Son & Hodge (Shoe Lane, Londonn, Est. 1767) in brown leather with gold tooling on spine.
