- Original watercolour painted and shown at the Liverpool Academy Exhibition (Cat no 520) in 1844. Engraved by W.J.Linton and published in the `Illustrated London News`, 23 May 1846 before Melville`s engraving of 1848. Engraving by W.J.Linton published in `Gems of Wood Engraving`, London, 1849. The original is now in the Victoria and Albert Museum (Cat.no.1223-1886) with the title `Stately Landing Place` (Information supplied by H. Dodgson, 3.ii.11).
