Curator's comments: One of four volumes of the so-called "Oudry" edition initiated by Louis Regnard de Montenault (Paris, 1755-1759), kept at 161.c.9 to 12 (1869,0508.3 to 277). Letterpress explanation of the frontispiece and select vignettes and culs-de-lampe, together with the Approbation and Privilege du Roi, are bound at the end of Volume IV. Loose impressions of select plates are kept elsewhere in the collection.
