- Series promoted by the Count of Floridablanca in 1788 to mark the creation of the Real Calcografía. 114 portraits were engraved until 1814, when its publication was interrupted.
The verse below image reads: "D. Diego Velazquez de Silva:/ Pintor del Rey FELIPE IIII: conside-/ rado como el Príncipe de los Profesores / Españoles. Nació en Sevilla en 1594,/ y murió en Madrid en 1660".
["D. Diego Velazquez de Silva: / Painter to the King Philip IV: considered / as the Prince of the Spanish / Masters. He was born in Seville in 1594, / and died in Madrid in 1660"].
