Xanthe Brooke (email Dec 2022): The etching does not show a view of the Royal Chapel in Seville Cathedral, but shows the Ephemeral Altarpiece for the Church of the Sagrario (the Sanctuary), which adjoined the Cathedral at its north-west corner and was built in the second half of the 17th century. The centre-piece of the temporary altar, which combined painting and sculpture, showed shows 'Saint Ferdinand led by Faith to the city of Seville', the perspective of Seville was painted by Bartolome Esteban Murillo.
