Portrait of Henri de Lorraine, Count of Harcourt, known as "le Cadet à la Perle"; the sitter is seen three-quarter length, turned to the left and looking towards the viewer, holding a command baton in his left hand, the other hand resting on a gauntlet, wearing breastplate, lace-trimmed collar, insignia of the Order of the Saint-Esprit and a pearl on his left ear; with nocturnal landscape and fortress on fire in the background and his coat of arms in the lower margin. 1667

- This masterpiece of engraving by Masson was so famous and sought after by collectors that it earned a nickname, 'le Cadet à la Perle', after the pearl earring sported by the sitter.
