Curator's comments
Stephens notes an impression from the collection of Sarah Banks in the British Library (Mss. 6306/82) including the names of those present: "Lord Middlesex, Lord Boyne, Mr Sewallis Shirley ... (I) believe Lord John Sackville". Another impression from Sarah Banks's collection (BL, MSS.6306/80) with Robert Sayer's publication line, is annotated by Horace Walpole, "Mr Vandergutch [presumably BenjaminVandergucht] said that his father engraved this print from a drawing by Mr Hogarth"; there is no reason to think that he was accurate in ascribing the design to Hogarth but the etching may well be by Gerard Vandergucht. Walpole also notes that "Sir Wm. (called Hell fire) Stanhope was one of the members" See 1858,0417.591 for further information on the subject matter.
