A Dutch broadside contrasting the deaths of Charles X of Sweden and Cardinal Mazarin and the exhumation of Cromwell, all taking place in 1661, illustrated by a wheel of fortune. Around the wheel are seven men representing Peace, Wealth, Vanity, Power, Discord, Envy, War and Destitution; in the centre the death bed of Charles X with his queen and young son and heir, at the foot of his bed a man named "G. Adolf", perhaps intended for his brother Adolf Johann, together with councillors of state including the chancellor of the regency, Magnus de la Garde. The wheel is flanked below on both sides with figures representing European states with shields of arms at their feet, identified as follows: the Pope, the Elector of Cologne, the Elector of Mainz, a Hollsteiner, the King of Spain, the King of England, the Holy Roman Emperor, the King of Poland, the King of Denmark, the Elector of Brandenburg, a Dutchman and a Courlander. Iin the top right an inserted scene shows the hanging of the disinterred regicides, Cromwell, Bradshaw, and Ireton on 30 January 1661; in the top left corner another scene shows the body of Cardinal Mazarin lying in state in March 1661. Engraved titles, inscriptions, and verses underneath the top two images, and with letterpress verses by Jan Soet in five columns. (n.p.: [1661?])
