"Niklaus Manuels Todtentanz. Gemalt zu Bern um 1515-1520. Lithographiert nach den getreuen Copien des berühmten Kunstmalers Wilhelm Stettler. La Danse des Morts peinte à Berne dans les années 1515 à 1520 par Nicolas Manuel et lithographié d'après les copies exactes du célèbre peintre Guillaume Stettler" (Berne, Rudolf Hagg & Co.) c. 1825; a book of 24 lithographic plates by J. Bergmann, numbered I to XXIV, showing scenes from the Dance of Death in the style of outline engravings. Together with two impressions of a lithographic portrait of Nicolaus Manuel (called Deutsch), one printed as frontispiece facing lithographic titlepage, the other printed with beige toneblock after the letterpress descriptions of the plates. In publisher's boards pasted with original hand-coloured title label showing skeletons dancing in a mortuary chapel.
