This is the drawing for Plate 3 of Girtin's 'Twenty Views in Paris...'. An impression of Girtin's soft-ground etching is in the Department, 1847-10-9-143(3). The version with aquatint by F.C.Lewis is 1855-6-9-1807. A working proof, touched up in places with red chalk, is in the V&A, E.612-1907. A detailed account of the etchings is found in a manuscript catalogue by Martin Hardie among the Girtin papers in the Department Library.
