Curator's comments
This print reproduces a drawing in the British Museum; see 1880,0214.25. It is a copy after Bruegel, possibly attributable to Jan Brueghel I. See also the print dated 1644 by Hendrick Hondius (New Hollstein 29) which reproduces the peasants dancing and conversing in the foreground; see 1871,1209.1037.
