frontispiece to left: a young man in oriental dress sitting on a mountainside, men and princes bowing before him, diminutive in proportion to him, a winged figure dragging a beast out of a cave below him, fairies flying around his head, a female figure in clouds to right and a demon to right.
titlepage to right: with a vignette showing a young woman in oriental dress, kneeling beside a pool, looking curiously to right at a lion which rubs against her affectionately.
