Ridolfo Capoferro, "Gran simulacro dell'arte e dell'uso della scherma di Ridolfo Capoferri da Cagli maestro dell'eccelsa natione alemanna, nell'inclita Citta' di Siena" (Siena, Marchetti and Turi) 1610; a treatise in Italian on the art of fencing, including: a title-page with the printer's mark; a frontispiece with the Della Rovere coat of arms at centre, and allegorical female figures seated at the sides; the dedication to Francesco Maria I della Rovere; a table of contents; a portrait of the author on an oval cartouche, flanked by putti; a preface; 43 etchings by Schiaminossi showing different fight positions, each accompanied by a commentary text; with historiated initials, head and tail-pieces, the text framed by an ornamental border and the printer's mark repeated on the verso of the last folio. Bound in white pig skin binding.
