Recto
The recto contains two studies of the same leg, seen from the front and side. The right study is a new version of one on the recto of the facing page (it is interesting to note the variations in pen work). This near identical copying of a motif would be usual in a sheet of investigative studies and clearly demonstrates that these drawings derive from other drawn studies.
To the top of each limb is a flower-like device, equally seen although less distinctly, in the other version on the preceding page. A not dissimilar mark is seen on the second limb from the right in Michelangelo`s Haarlem sheet: they are perhaps the heads of nails from which the model limbs hang (it seems the draughtsman of the present group was unclear how to interpret them).
Verso
The verso contains a study of the right foot of a skeleton, a reversed version of the foot on the verso of the preceding sheet. It was followed by the bent right arm whose awkward juxtaposition with the foot recalls the Louvre sheet containing similar studies discussed under 1866.1208.643/4. The description of the hand on the present verso gives way to two rows differently angled hatching with no representational value.
