- Ganz notes that the subject appears in fact to be Aristotle and Phyllis; see A. Pigler 'Barockthemen' (1974, Budapest), II, p. 299. The interprtation of the monogram HG as Gascar is a guess.
There is a version in reverse direction by Jan van Somer (Hollstein 40, 2010,7081.18).
