Three half-length figures from a Venetian carnival; a young bejewelled woman at centre, a black mask in her left hand, a small basket containing a bird over her right wrist; to left, a figure wearing a white mask with a dark cloak and hat slyly moves his hand towards the bird, to right, a figure wearing a mask to appear as a black man insinuatingly raises his hat; the woman looks towards him with interest.
