Political pamphlet of 21 pages (including folded frontispiece illustration) entitled:
"Last Moments of Caroline Queen of England to which is added, The Broken Heart! A Poem."
The folded frontispiece illustration (BM Satires 14233) is bound opposite the title page. It represents the Queen lying with closed eyes on a four-post bed festooned with drapery. A weeping woman sits by the bed (right), two others stand, five men register despairing grief.
Lettered on the titlepage with the full title and the quotations:
"When we shall meet at count,
That look of thine shall hurl my soul from heav'n
And fiends shall snatch at it!" Shakespeare."
and:
"The spirit of a man can sustain his infirmities, but a wounded spirit who can bear?- Proverbs."
With the publisher's line at the foot of the page:
"London: Printed for J. Johnston, 98, Cheapside" On the verso: "Printed by T. Hamblin, Garlick-hill, Thames Street."
The back page of the pamphlet carries an advertisement for: "Dr Syntax in London" and "The Adventures of a post Captain by a Naval Officer."
The verse satire relates the visit of her ghost to the King while asleep on his yacht on the journey to Ireland.
