Three images; the first; the Chinese gentleman mounted on a dejected horse, whipping it with a flail, accompanied by two servants and two guards, the servants also beating the horse, a pagoda on a hill beyond; the second; Crusoe standing before his cottage, his gun over his shoulder, his dog and goat at his heels, his parrot and cat against the walls of the house, the forest beyond; the third; Crusoe discovering an old goat in a cave, a flaming torch held aloft in his hand, the animal lying down and looking towards him; illustration to Defoe's "The Life and Surprising Adventures of Robinson Crusoe of York, Mariner" (1831)
