Reid 4907. An illustrated book entitled "The Bee and the Wasp." In a blue binding, the title and date lettered in gold on the spine and marbling on the inside covers. With several blank pages at the beginning of the book and a yellow wrapper lettered: "The Bee and the wasp. A fable - in verse. With designs and etchings by G. Cruikshank. "In Tenui labor." London: Charles Tilt, 86, Fleet Street, 1832." On the verso "Bradbury and Evans Printer." The wording of the title-page is the same as that on the wrapper.
With four etched illustration plates described by GW Reid as follows: (Note plate No 3 is bound as the frontispiece in this edition.)
1. Reid 1563. "Mr Wasp introducing himself to the humble bee."
2. Reid 1564. "The new friends carousing."
3. Reid 1565. "Treachery of Mr Wasp."
4. Reid 1566. "Mr Wasp's cowardly onsluaght on humble bee's wife and children."
