Description
Reid 5052. An illustrated book with cloth binding entitled: "The Brownrigg Papers" by Douglas Jerrold, author of "The Life and Remains of Douglas Jerrold" etc. Lettered on the title-page, "With a coloured illustration by George Cruikshank." The publisher's details at the foot of the page: "London: John Camden Hotten, Piccadilly, 1860. The right of translation is reserved." With a single handcoloured etched illustration plate, "The Actress at the Duke's" (Reid 2633) representing Nokes the Comedian and his companion rescuting Betterton and Peggy Simpson in Drury Lane. 1860 Etched frontispiece illustration to a book in dark red, cloth binding
