Reid 5003. Illustrated book entitled: "The Inundation." Bound in red cloth with the title, author's name and a floral design on the spine. The title is also lettered in gold on the front cover within a border representing a bird and flowers.
Lettered on the title-page: "The innundation: or, peace and pardon. A Christmas Story by Mrs Gore. With illustrations by Geo Cruikshank." With the publisher's details at the foot of the page: "Fisher, Son & Co. Angel Street, St Martin's-Le-Grand, London. H. Mandeville, Rue Neuve Vivienne, Paris."
With a dedication to "Her Royal Highness the Princess of Orange."
With the following illustrations, described by GW Reid as follows:
1. Reid 2426. Frontispiece. Priscilla Atfield slung from the cliffs; her father held by the fisherman.
2. Reid 2427. "If you would trust me to bind it up." Priscilla binding up the broken leg of the lighthouse keeper's favourite kid, which had been injured by Crony.
3. Reid 2428. Jem wading into the Dudbourne. The cowboy losing the basket of grocery and a letter in the torrent.
4. Reid 2429. "Took her into his rough arms." Priscilla received in the arms of the fisherman on the ledge of the rock called the Bee's Pulpit.
