Etched frontispiece Illustration Plate: Reid 2634. "The Intercepted Dispatch" representing Lilla presenting her letter to Emperor Napoleon III, by command of King Victor Emmanuel, who stands at his side. Beneath the image "Designed and etched by George Cruikshank."
Lettered on the title page beneath the title: "By S.W. Fullom, Author of "The Great Highway, "The Marvels of Science," "The Human Mind, etc, etc." with the publisher's details at the foot of the page.
