- There is a list of descriptions of the subjects inserted in the front of the album. This drawing is described as: "77. A Bell suspended from a Beam before one of the Temples at Tong-tcheou-fou, where the Embassy resided, it was 4 feet in height & when toll'd on occasion of sacrifice &c. was struck on the edge with a Mallet."
