Reid 4816. "The Life of Napoleon Bonaparte" edited by WH Ireland published in four illustrated volumes.
Vol 3. Bound in card with a leather effect. The title and volume numbers lettered on the spine in gold. With folded, handcoloured, engraved illustrations. The publisher's line and original publication date are printed at the foot of each illustration.
1. Reid 1201, "Napoleon the Great in Coronation Robes." "Engraved by George Cruikshank from the Original Painting by Gerard. Published October 13 1826 by John Fairburn, Broadway, Ludgate Hill.
2. Title page with "The Life of Napoleon Bonaparte by W. Ireland Esq, Member of the Atheneum of Sciences and Arts at Paris. In Four Volumes, Volume III." in ornate lettering. With a wood engraved coat of arms with the Napoleonic eagle at its centre, beneath a crown and draped in an ermine robe. Lettered beneath the image: "J&J Neele fc. 362, Strand" and in a larger text "Napoleon Francis Charles Joseph King of Rome." With the publisher's details at the foot of the page: "London, Published by John Cumberland, 19 Ludgate Hill. 1828."
3. Reid 1202. "Napoleon's Entrance into the City of Berlin." "Engraved by Mr. George Cruikshank from the Original Design of Swebach, Published at Paris." Published August 27th, 1825.
4. Reid 1203. "Napoleon Defeating the Prussian Army at Eylau." "Engraved by Mr. George Cruikshank, from the original design of Swebach. Published at Paris." Published June 6, 1825.

7. Reid 1206. "Napoleon's Retreat from Moscow." "Engraved by Mr G. Cruikshank from the original German print by C. Beyer." The original publication date is illegible as the sheet has been cut.

- Volume 3 of a series of 4 volumes.
AM Cohn, "George Cruikshank: A Catalogue Raisonné" (435). The illustrations are engraved by George Cruikshank after the work of French artists including Carle Vernet and Vivant (?) Denon "executed" (engraved) at Paris by Duplesis-Berteaux. Originally published in 64 parts, sixteen to a volume, containing 27 plates.
GW Reid "A Descriptive catalogue of the Work of George Cruikshank." (4816): Printed and published by John Fairburn, Broadway, Ludgate Hill. 1823-8. This work appeared periodically in parts during the above mentioned years. 8vo [1823-8]. Second edition. Published by John Cumberland, Ludgate Hill. Third edition. Published by John Cumberland, 2, Cumberland Terrace, Camden Town [1823-8]. A later edition about 1838, published by Berger, Holywell Street and sold in threepenny numbers, the plates being uncoloured."
