- Curator's comments
- Binyon wrongly identified this as a copy after Carceri plate2. The correct identification was made by Hind. It is in fact after the plate titled 'Carcere oscura con antenna per suplizio de' malfatori', and comes from the 'Prima Parte di Archtetture e Prospettive' of 1743 (Wilton-Ely 5).
