Description
"Engravings from the Works of Henry Liverseege." (London, Hodgson, Boys and Graves and Manchester, Grundy and Goadsby) 1832-35; containing a frontispiece mezzotint portrait of Henry Liverseege, an illustrated title page and 35 mezzotint plates of genre subjects, portraits, and themes from literature (for example of Falstaff and Bardolph, Hamlet, Othello and Desdemona); includes a list of engravings describing the "Proprietor of the Picture" and the engraver, as well as a letterpress "Memoir of Henry Liverseege, by Charles Swain, Esq.", and two letterpress poems, "On the Death of Henry Liverseege." and "To Robert Southey, Esq. LL.D. Poet Laureate" (both dated 1835). Full leather dark green binding with gilt tooling to front and rear covers and turn-in, and gilt-edged leaves. Gold tooled spine with a gold embossed title, "Liverseege.". Mezzotint
