Four oval scenes, each related to religious events or saints celebrated in May; from left to right and top to bottom, a bearded saint kneeling in a landscape, looking up as words appear in the sky (Conversion of St Augustine); a Bishop saint standing before an altar with a kneeling woman beside him (St Hilary of Arles' day); St John standing in a cauldron of boiling oil, his hands clasped (St John before the Latin Gate); the Virgin appearing to a sleeping Bishop (St John Damascene's Day). c.1632/35
