Four oval scenes, each related to religious events or saints celebrated in March; from left to right and top to bottom, a saint crushed to death in a press while in the background, another is being poured melted pitch down his throat (Sts Jonas & Barachisius' Day); a hermit seated in a rocky landscape and reading a book looks up as a monk approaches (St John Climaticus' Day); a man thrusting a thorny stake in the abdomen of a saint with arrows sticked under his nails (St Benjamin's Day); a female saint conversing with a boy carrying a candle and dtanding at her side while a male saint is being beheaded in the background (St Quirinus' Day). c.1632/35
