Heading to printed verses: '(Tune "Black Joke.") Sung with unbounded Applause by Mr. Johnstone, of the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane'. A scene at 'Donny-brook fair'. A smartly dressed Irishman grasps the left. wrist of a friend, flourishing a shillelagh; both wear shamrock in their hats. In the background are tents and trees, with a few people drinking and dancing. The last verse begins:
'May the sons of the Thames, the Tweed and the Shannon,
Drub the French who dare plant on our confines a cannon!' 20 October 1807
