- Curator's comments
- The drawing is listed by Degenhart and Schmitt among a group of ex-Fries or Lagoy drawings which they believe might have once been in a album formed in Gentile da Fabriano/ Pisanello's studio.

Popham & Pouncey 1950
Catalogued in the Woodburn Sale as by S. Memmi. Borenius, who calls this drawing North Italian and dates it c. 1420, seems to be right in seeing "a decided affinity" to the art of Pisanello. It is indeed probably safe to assume that such a drawing would have been done by a Veronese. The date suggested by Borenius is perhaps a trifle too early.
