In the inscription Ghezzi writes that this is a vase of Parian marble, two and a half palms tall, found in the Villa Fonseca near San Giovanni in Laterano. Also that it is intact, with three lion heads. That it was given to Baron Sersale [?] on 8 April 1723 and that he made this drawing on 14 January 1725
