The long inscription under these full length caricatures states that the smaller figure is Monsignor Gavanina and the taller one Abbott Avellino. The latter will become a prelate in a few days. Gavanina had requested Ghezzi to caricature him in a Jesuit robe, as he is reproaching Avellino, who had just come out of seminary with the token that the Jesuits give for breakfast to the seminarists, that is a small pizza which he keeps inside his hat. Ghezzi states that he saw them at the "conversazione" [social gathering?] of the Princess of Palestrina on 20 January 1753.
