The inscription states that the sitter is the nephew of Signora Catarina who is "rendered" just below the present caricature and who is the wife of the Cavaliere.
Indeed the caricature of "Signora Caterina" is placed in the album below the present one (see 1859,0806.239) and it is possible that the "Cavalligere" is Ghezzi himself, therefore possibly a mention of his own wife, Maria Caterina Peroni. The latter had two brothers, Giuseppe Maria and Nicola Peroni, who were Ghezzi's friends. The present sitter could be a son of one of them, although there is no mention in the sources of either of them being married.
It should be noted that in Italian "nepote" can also mean "grandchild".
