- According to Milner, there are two other versions of this watercolour in the Victoria and Albert Museum: FA 484 (dated 1790) and D 413 (1889). Of the three the BM version is the most highly finished, probably dating from 1790 or shortly after. See: Barbara Milner, 'Thomas Hearne, 1744-1817: A catalogue of his watercolours and drawings in the British Museum', unpublished typescript (MA report for Courtauld Institute), 1983, no. 32.
