- Description
-
A man in hunting costume aims a pistol at very close range at a goose (left) suspended from a pole. His second pistol is in his left hand. Behind him (right) on an upturned tub, sits a friend in gaiters, staring anxiously, and awkwardly holding a pistol and powder-flask. Both have an air of rusticity. There is a pleasant landscape background. 7 June 1824.
