Jean-Joseph Granet's "Histoire de l'Hôtel Royal des Invalides" (Paris: Guillaume Desprez, 1736); a book on the history of the Invalides in Paris; with title-page, preface, 112-pages text illustrated with headpieces, some signed by Schuppen, Chauveau; culs-de-lampe, some signed by Chauveau; and initial letters by Cochin; following the text are plates, numbered 1 to 103, representing (1) allegorical scene with Charity leading wounded soldiers before Louis XIV; (2-21) elevations, bird's eye view, plans, cross-sections of the Invalides, most engraved after Chevotet; (22-103) the decor of the Invalides: paintings after Coypel, Louis and Bon Boullogne, De La Fosse, Jouvenet, Corneille, sculptures and bas-reliefs

- An annotation pencilled on the second page reads "This Edition has the Earliest state of the plates".
Not all of the plates were engraved specifically for the book; see headpiece showing a medal representing Louis XIV (obverse) and the personification of Paris (reverse), engraved by Schuppen in 1674 (1858,1113.289.2).
The first headpiece of the book (1858,1113.289.3) , engraved by Cochin after Dulin, was later reused in a series (see 1871,1209.2496)
