Arion, carrying his lyre, is thrown overboard by sailors; a dolphin approaches from the left to save him; the scene is set in an octagonal frame, with two winged figures flanking the coat of arms of the Dauphin in the upper part, and two tritons flanking an oval cartouche in the lower part; probably an illustration (frontispiece ?) to an unidentified edition of Martial's work; proof before letter
