- Curator's comments
- Plate 43 from 'Cabinet du Duc de Choiseul', see 1858,0417.1109 for comment.
After the painting attributed to Rembrandt in the Wallace Collection, London, inv.no.203 (Bredius 545). The Corpus of Rembrandt Paintings rejects an attribution to Rembrandt and discusses the painting as the work of Rembrandt's studio, probably Govert Flinck, possibly a copy after a lost work by Rembrandt. For an etching by Rembrandt depicting the same subject see White+Boon 90.
